Everyone Is Asking the Same Question: "Is There a Free One?"
If you found this page, you probably searched something like "parakeet ai for free", "is interview sidekick free", or "ai interview copilot open source". You are not alone — these are some of the most-searched questions in the interview AI space in 2026.
Short answer: most popular interview copilots are paid — but there is a genuinely free one. Let's go tool by tool.
Is Parakeet AI Free?
No. Parakeet AI offers a very limited trial, after which you need a paid subscription for real interview sessions. If you have a full interview loop coming up (3–5 rounds), the cost adds up fast.
Free alternative: Ghostly AI does live transcription and real-time AI answers — the same core workflow — at ₹0, forever. You bring your own free-tier API key (Gemini, Groq, or OpenRouter), so there is no subscription at all.
Is Interview Sidekick Free?
No. Interview Sidekick is subscription-based, with pricing aimed at US job seekers. There is no unlimited free tier.
Free alternative: Ghostly AI gives you unlimited sessions because the AI runs on your own API key. Most users stay entirely inside the free tiers of Gemini or Groq.

"Interview Copilot Mod APK" — Please Don't
A surprising number of people search for cracked or modded versions of paid interview copilots. Don't do this. Mod APKs and cracked desktop apps are the #1 delivery method for keyloggers and credential stealers — the worst possible software to run on the same machine where you log into your email, bank, and job portals.
You don't need a crack. The official Ghostly AI app is already free.
Is There an Open-Source / GitHub Option?
Yes. Ghostly AI publishes its releases openly on GitHub at github.com/Maheshshelke05/ghostly-releases. You can:
- Download the official Windows installer directly from GitHub — no signup wall
- Verify release versions and changelogs publicly
- Optionally purchase the full Electron + React source code if you want to build custom features
For people searching "open source interview assistant" — Ghostly AI's open, BYOK, local-first model is exactly that philosophy: your API keys, your data, your machine. Nothing is locked to a cloud backend you can't inspect.
