We have some exciting news! Today, Ghostly AI officially crossed 46 active users on our dashboard! 🚀 For an open-source, local-first stealth AI interview copilot, this is an incredible milestone. We are extremely grateful to each one of you who downloaded the app, trusted us, and shared feedback.
In this post, we’ll talk about the journey of reaching this milestone, the login issues some users faced, how we resolved them, and what’s new in the v3.3.3 release.

Within just a few weeks of launching Ghostly AI, we have hit 46 users (all enjoying the full features of Ghostly AI for free!).

🔑 The Login Issue: What Happened & How We Solved It
As more users started onboarding, some encountered a blocker. A few users reached out via WhatsApp DMs stating they were logged into the website but the desktop app still asked them to sign in, or they couldn't see the option/button to grant permissions.
Why did this happen?
The desktop app runs a local authentication server on port 7842. When you sign in on the website, it redirects and sends the token back to the local desktop app. Some users signed in with different Google accounts on their desktop app browser and the main website browser, which caused sync failures.
The Solution: How to Login Properly
To avoid any confusion, follow these simple steps:
- Open the Ghostly AI Desktop App.
- Click on the Continue with Google / Sign In button. It will automatically launch your browser and open the login page:
https://www.ghotlyai.in/login. - Make sure you log in on the browser using the exact same Google account that your browser is currently signed into.
- Once authentication is successful, the browser will instantly sync and unlock the Ghostly AI desktop application.

To make sure onboarding is completely seamless, we pushed the v3.3.3 update!
Key Updates in v3.3.3:
- Instant Auth Sync: The authentication handshake between the browser and desktop app has been optimized. No more loading loops or missed redirect callbacks.
- Bug Fixes: Resolved the permission issue where the redirect callback failed to establish a handshake on certain Windows ports.
- Speed Enhancements: Faster startup and lower memory consumption during live DSA screen capture and speech transcription.
- Stealth Integration: Improved transparent window capture protection so it remains 100% invisible on Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet screen shares.
